Hello from SAT

22 Attachment(s)
Name is Stoly and I'm wrapping up a two year restoration on my '91. Started the day after Christmas '09 and leave for TDR in Dallas on Sept. 28th to have them finish things up and get my suspension and DIYPNP dialed in. Hoping to have a running Miata by Halloween and out of the body/paint shop by Christmas of this year.

A few random shots of the process...

welcome, thats a beauty of an engine! Good luck on the build and keep us up to date!

Accidentally slammed? hehe, xidas are known to be super low even at max height settings. Your car being a 1.6 NA should have much better luck getting a streetable height than us NB guys. I'm waiting on FM strut tower spacers to get my rears higher. Really don't know what I'm gonna do if that still isn't enough (12" rear fender to hub, 4.5" ground to pinch weld).

Wow, that is one serious looking motor. Interested in hearing what it sounds like.

Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hi Stoly, enjoy your stay :)

Pretty sweet to see a clean first post like this one - been following your build on the other forums. I'm over in Houston and would love to see your car in person at some point!

Thanks guys. In looking around the site it looks like a good mix of people so far and I'm sure this site will only get bigger and bigger. jumbosrule - I travel for a living and plan on using the Miata during the cooler months, when possible, and plan on hitting as many of the local meets as possible in my travels.

As for the XIDA's, yeah, I was a bit surprised at how low they came out but didn't put too much effort into them since TDR needs to put in the poly bushings and set the car up. Believe me, as soon as TDR says the car runs, I'll be in Dallas with a recorder so I can upload some videos.

Wow that is a great looking engine :D

Very interesting retro-ish look!

Might have to take a peak at it next time I'm in SA :D
