You are real. A robot would not have made an error in grammar.

Jeff Abbott 10-28-2011 11:50 AM

Six I like yours too. My friend drifted a playboy model around. That's pretty impressive...She had less on than your lady in the pic ;)

Track 10-28-2011 02:38 PM

^hahaha, saw that on autoblog. It was in that BMW I think.

Jeff Abbott 10-28-2011 06:30 PM

Yup LOL His gf wasnt to happy about it though..

Track 10-28-2011 06:33 PM

^lol. Leave it to girls to make things fun and lame at the same time. I say its still worth it!

So Jeff, do you have share any of your expertise with miata owners? or is that top secret as a professional drifter?

Jeff Abbott 11-15-2011 05:23 PM

Ahh sorry for the late reply. I didnt see this question. I share man. Nothing to hide here. I always answer any questions if I can. My weak spot is decision making on turbos for my own use LOL. Many members here have been tired out by my banter on what turbo I need LOL.
I hope for 2012 we have all of the part numbers and grind info for a stroker. If not maybe I will use a 2.0 MZR and make it a 2.3 OR if I can come up with the support I will throw in an LS series and see what happens.
This pro series crap is all a money game...

Track 11-15-2011 06:46 PM

I see, have you thought about 2.3 DISI? its complicated I am sure, as the whole shebang will have to be swapped or you will need to move to aftermarket ECU. but its all in the family and the DISI is a beast!

Not really cost effective, but it would be unique. What turbo are you running now?

Jeff Abbott 11-15-2011 06:52 PM

Always stand alone EMS. AEM is a sponsor of mine :)
Its not complicated. I just dont know alot about it.
This is a full track car. Nothing else. So it is a built engine, cage, drive line :)

My real concern is what driveline I will use. If this has the powerband I need, I will look into a gsr dogbox.

That goes for the LS, MZR or if I keep the 1.8 due to budget.

Then I need to figure out what rear end. I want to get a quick change in there. Not sure it will fit.

Track 11-15-2011 08:03 PM

I see. I would stick with the LS personally. the MZR is a good bet too, but you will just have to do good bit more "new horizon" fabricating. Are there a lot of MZR'd NA/NBs?

Mazduh 11-16-2011 12:41 AM

Welcome! Love your car! Nice to put a face to the pics I've seen float around on forums.

The LS would be the same if not more "new Horizon" fab. There are rules that have to be followed for chassis mods. The MZR would drop in much easier. It would just be engine mounts, tranny brace, quick change rear end fabbed in. The engine build for them is common knowledge. Sleeve it and get a stroker kit from Brian Crower, Some spring for the head and done.
The LS would have Subframe mods and more fitment issues. The engine equation is easy for them too.

I think I am just going to build a stroker for the 1.8. Just need some sponsors to jump on and it will happen. Then I just need to get a dog box and a quick change rear end. No engine fitment issues. Just tranny and rear end mods.
