Hey Everyone! I'm new to the whole car scene :D. I finally decided on making a miata my first car. I'm looking for a white stock 1990-1996. Help me out :]

Welcome Sammmy. I'll also help to translate for the Brain, as communication isn't his specialty.

The 90 - 93 have the smaller 1.6L with less potential when you want to do some good power adders. The 90s to 92 ?? also have a problem with the crank nose as well. Some of the purists, however; enjoy the smaller quicker to rev 1.6.

Brain is our local Aspergers/EMS Megasquirt Super expert. If you look to mod your future Miata, you will find him very useful.

Brainy is your master.

Yo believeo the small nose crank was 90-early 91 only

I once met the Brain in person, had to avert my eyes until he recognized my presence. Even then I could not make eye contact.

True story.

Haha

MF-Brain 05-10-2012 10:44 AM

its funny cause it's true.

The 1.6 cars also had inadequately sized rear differentials that often broke and smaller brakes all the way around. Once these few shortcomings are mitigated they are quite fine cars. Their engines are quite strong and reliable to many hundreds of thousands of miles if well maintained.

MF-Brain 05-10-2012 02:00 PM

1.6L miatas are a joke.

less displacement thus less tq and hp, less brakes, less rear, less clutch, and only 200 less pounds.

sixshooter 05-12-2012 09:31 AM

If they had installed a macho diff at the factory the 1.6 cars would have been flawless IMO. And it is a simple swap to make.

MF-Brain 05-13-2012 09:44 AM

wouldn't help. oh less, less bracing too.

I mean it helps it not suck as much. i had to upgrade all of the stated above just to get the car on par with the 94 and it's still a hell of a lot slower...

Hey Guys! Have a question? Any on you sticker bomb their car? I need help picking out a section of the car to do it on.

flying_solo 05-21-2012 01:29 PM

I think you want to ask the guys at ClubRoaster. I've seen some cool looking ones where they did a front splitter. But, folks here are more conservative with their Miatas.

Sammmmy 05-21-2012 01:45 PM

Okay, Thank you <3
