New gen Miata for ND.
Saw this article, what are your guy's thoughts?
I think it's butt f*cking ugly... But I could consider it if they actually got their goal weight and power concerns down for it. Still kinda bleh. http://www.motortrend.com/future/fut...ing/index.html The NC has horrible taillights, not they fuckup the headlights!? WTF Mazda!?:ohnoes: |
At least they got rid of the Joker Smile

Damn that is fugly!! I hope to hell that's a joke of some sorts.

If Mazda comes out with the new Miata looking like that, they're going to see a HUGE drop in sales, that's for sure.

This is what seperates me from you buttheads. You care about the looks of it. Did you not read about it going from the current NC 2.0 liter to a 1.5 liter engine making 125 HP? F that. When I think of miata's, I think of a light roadster that actuallly makes decent power and is designed to bolt a turbocharger to. Not a RWD econo car that every single FWD car wipes their asses with all day long.

Looks ugly as hell.

It does say the us gets a 2.0l. ----- died but it probably won't be Turbo friendly. I like the look. I am weird tho.

Its all about the handling fellas, we all know a 13BT fits anywhere.
Im just as keen on the FT86 myself, being a 'proper' corolla owner (AE86'n it like a BOSS) Dann |

As for running a 1.5L engine, I think that would be good personally. The NC has grown too big in more ways than one to be a true inexpensive roadster. It's competing too much with the BMW Z4. |
It says it is 2100 lbs and keeps the 2.0L engine it has now. Win-win. I don't like how any Miatas look stock so I could care less what this one looks like. If I cared about looks I wouldn't be in a Miata. It is about handling, balance, and weight. I care more about what a car can do than what it looks like.
The 2.0L is a very capable powerplant that can make 500+hp when built and turboed. There are tons of aftermarket parts for that engine already (European Ford Focus) because of all of the tuners and rally car enthusiasts across the pond. When the NCs get older and cheap enough for more widespread aftermarket modification attention you will see. I personally know MXGeorge on MX5Atlanta is making some good boosted and meth injected power with his already. |
