My father was in intel. Senior. He tried to hire a former intel analyst for a DoD gig for 80k a year and had trouble filling the position. In Florida. You can buy a lot of turbozzz for 80k a year. You can be in a lot worse places than Florida (North Dakota for you Air Force personnel).

Rules of getting a good job:
1. Get a marketable skill that is moderately difficult/expensive to acquire (including things like security clearances).
2. Get hired.
3. Get paid.

If you are young, single, no kids, why wouldn't you go where the money takes you? Earn it while you can, that way you can have a more comfortable future. No matter where you go, as a young male, you will do stupid things, have fun, and get good stories.

You say you can't earn more youth, you also can't earn more time to spend with your family, children, etc. It's more important to me at this point in my life to secure a good financial future for my wife and myself. When we have children, I want to focus on that part of my life and not the career part. I don't want to work 60hrs a week to support a family or advance my career, if I can work hard now to provide the future I want, it's worth it to me.

To each his own.

I think any job with frequent travel would be pretty nice if your single and have not much to loose.

I have no dependents, I'm young, I'm going for #2. I can always do #1 later on, but may not be able to do #2 later on. We shall see. I've really been itching to finish up the Miata and turbo the MR-S, this should allow me to do so.

If this is just your first term... number 2 definitely.

Go for it, have fun. What do you mean by something other then "big army"? You man like Rangers or something? That'd be fun.

This is my second term, just about done with it. I still have to actually get accepted for #2. But starting my application.
