Years ago I would have said yes and here is why

A keg of beer is one bottle short of being seven cases. Our neighbor had a keg setup as well as myself.
Our neighbor (retired) would have a frosty mug pulled up when I got in from work. If I came in at 7 in the morning or got off at 4 in the afternoon or 11 at night he was there at the front door.
It was amazing that we seemed to run out at the same time
Together he and I have put enough beer and whiskey down to not only float a battleship but sink it as well.
Every 7 days we would buy two kegs and a gallon of black jack or something similar.
My wife did not work at the time so the two of them would head out on a Monday morning to get them changed out. They went so often that when they pulled up neither one got out of the pickup, the guys would roll two kegs and a gallon out and take the two empties.
This went on for over two years. Till this day I have no idea why we quit drinking the same day.
It was a Sunday afternoon and the cowboys were playing it was halftime. He came over the house and as he walked in the door I ask if he needed a draw and he says not now. I told him I did not want one either but would drink one if he was ready. That was the end never another drop of beer or whiskey
After 15 plus years it may still have me diluted .
When he passed away years latter there was still a half keg or so left in our kegs, the trail from his house to ours has finally disappeared.
I had left mine up just in case.
He was a great neighbor. For 17 years I saw him nearly every day and in that 17 years he was in our house nearly everyday . The days he was not would not add up to a month.
Now as to not running an AC
I started pulling weeds and pulling boles at 3 years old did not get much but it did add to total weight.
Have always worked hot jobs or in hot buildings. The sun beating down and the heat has not been a problem for me until the last few months .
The disabilities I have and the medications I take for them have made it harder to handle.
I may have to give in and start running the AC more.
What we do now is take a small ice chest with ice and water drop two big washcloths in it. We squeeze them out and then lay them on our head and down our neck. They keep you cool for some time

but not so much on humid days.

what's the humidity in Mt Peak normally in summer? < 30%?

Wow, that is one hell of a liver you have sir. Very interesting how you two decide to stop at the same time.

Sorry to hear about why you do now need A/C. Me being from the great white North, I don't handle heat too well. Suffered heat stroke a few times as a kid while bailing hay. Nothing like falling off the wagon and your grandpa almost running over you because he didn't realize you weren't back there anymore.

Right and the desert is a dry heat so it isn't so bad! I was told that by a guy when driving through 29 palms. I had sandals on and my feet were burning on the pavement as it was 110F degrees outside at the time. He said it was 115F the day before! I didn't know man could live in such temperatures.

We had used the A/C so much that it iced over at one point in the truck. Man I hate the desert.

@y8s The average runs a lot higher than that staying in the 80-90% over the last couple of years according too the last chart I looked at
We do see it down in the 30% range though
I know folks do cook to a crisp in just a few miutes out in the sun here
When I went in the service I was with a bunch for up north. One of the first things I told them is you will blister ina few minutes in this Texas sun .Those guys were young like me and seeing I was really dark they wanted dark tans as well. Some laid in the sun for hours some only an hour or so they all looked like cooked lobsters and some way over cooked.
The over cooked ones I never saw again due to being burned so badly
@ Flying that is most likely why the heat hurts you so bad,hay baling is not the best job around either.
I knew a guy that worked like a bandit out side . He had a heat stroke and he was never the same again. Even in the winter if it was 25 -30 degrees he would not have a coat on. He kept his Ac at work and home on 50 year round.
Five minutes in the heat and he was done
I really do think a lot of it is what you get use to and where you are from.
You get down around Houston and the coast with that salt water and humidity and it is miserable to me ,yet millions live there day in day out and rarely complain.
As rule to me hot is hot it does not matter if you are in texas or Alaska
