I am replacing my shift with short shift getting new rubber boot and leather boot as well 14oz weighted leather shift **** off a Mitsubishi.

My Question is i want to lub up the shifter while I have it apart what weight of oil do I need is the same as the trans?

 

Also how much oil goes in shift turret?

never hurts, also check your master/slave cyl for leaks.
Use good fluid Red line is the best, but there are others out there that are decent

 

yeah no leaks from master or slave also bleed them when I first bought the car!

 

If clutch is not completely disengaging it will be more difficult to select a gear. Check clutch pedal adjustment per the factory service manual.

Worn shifter bushings can make it difficult to select the correct gear. Adding a short shifter will exacerbate the issue.

 

There is a metal shifter bushing that is available from Mazda Motorsports. If you are into fast shifting, it would be a good investment.
