Well to be honest...I inherited the car less than a yr ago and when I first drove it I thoiught it was like a golfcart...lol!I had it for sale for dirt cheap til I learned better...was asking $4500 for it with 49,000 miles on it.I had one jerk(thank god he was a jerk)look at it and didn't get back to me.I decided to drive it a bit and then decide what to do.I have a firebird and was going to sell the miata and firebird and look for a 2002 WS6 trans am.Well I am in love with the Miata and it's going nowhere.I'm slowly doing things to it...new grill, new rollbar, xenon lights, driving lights..blizzac's and new wheels..now I'm looking for 15 inch wheels and new rubber for fair weather driving.Still covet a WS6 but love, love .love my Miata!!My little dog rides around with me and wears goggles...lol. I'lll post pics soon.

I have a '68 GTO Convertible but I love the ability of a small, light car to change direction and hustle around corners, especially with the turbo doubling the stock horsepower. Be careful with the weight of the wheels you buy because Miatas are very sensitive to wheel weight when it comes to handling feel. There are good choices in 15x6.5, 15x7, 15x8, 15x9 depending upon how much grip you are interested in having. I have 15x6.5 Konig Heliums with Hoosier 205/50/R15 racing slicks for track fun and Toyo RA-1's in the same size for street duty.
Check this source for good prices on lightweight wheels for our cars:

Thank yoiu so much.I recently found out about keeping the wheels light...I sure appreciate all the input I can get...so hard to figure out the tire situation.Love GTO's ,but your so right, the Miata is so handy.

I want to see pics of you and the dog with his riding glasses. That sounds hilarious. My dog would never let me do that to him. He also hates riding in any car.
