Default 1991 Miata - steering "clunk"

I had the shocks replaced on my 1991 with Bilstein HD's and a realignment, and now there's an intermittent clunk sound in slow, sharp turns both left and right (such as turning into a driveway) which wasn't there before.
Having read various forum's on this problem, I am led to believe it's the eccentric alignment bolts.
Any other constructive bones you'd like to throw my way are appreciated.

Is it possible the shop didn't tighten everything? Why not take it back?

I'm guessing it is loose at the tophat.

Turned out to be a botched installation. The mechanic (and I use that term loosely) used a wrong nut. The clunk heard was accompanied by movement which damaged the strut thread. The mechanic replaced the strut at his expense and used the correct hardware. Some people are in the wrong profession.
