Default Rattle

I have a Miata with high mileage but still runs great. I just started getting rattle and only with the headlights up. After a couple weeks it came and went from time to time. I finally figured out it was the right hood hinge, the pin is loose. Any idea how to fix it or should I have to replace the hinge?

If it is worn out you will have to replace it, but you might just give it a little grease to stop the squeak. You might make sure the rubber bumpers are there on the fenders at the sides of the hood that prevent undue movement when the hood is closed.

Thanks, the rubber bumbers are in place but there is a lot of play in the hinge pin. It's going into winter storage soon so I will mess with it in the spring.
