Default Throttle body cleaning

Is this a big project requiring huge amounts of brain power or can an old fart shade tree kind of guy handle it? In previous postings it appears that folks have not had any difficulties but anything to do with this very important part of the engine scares the hell out of me! What I was about to do was go by my local parts store and pick up a can of cleaner, remove the ducting and then have at it! Is that how it can be done and keep me out of trouble? Inquiring minds need to know!

One of the things I read was that a small bit of household oil should be applied to the hinge point of the butterfly valve, Yes or No?

I've never heard that. But it couldn't hurt.

Well sir the task is done. Along with the addition of a K&N air filter, the motor seems a bit easier to rev, and that is a good thing. I did tighten the rear shock bolts just a bit and no more squeaks! I am a happy camper once again and looking forward to a drive up to the Reno are for Thanksgiving with my brother. Should be a fun run UNLESS the mountains get SNOW. Then "Plan B" will go into effect. ( Have yet to formulate that as of yet )

It gets pretty chilly in Reno. It snows a few inches a year there, from what I recall.

I'm glad the squeaks are gone. They drive me nuts sometimes.
