Default Miata Project - From a young gun

Hi guys, I guess this is my first post.

Anyway here I go... I bought my Miata at around the end of May. I've been working part time since I turned 14 to get it. I've now been 16 for a while. In about 4 1/2 months I'll FINALLY be able to drive it.

I bought a 1996 MX-5 with the Popular Equipment Package. It has 80 000 miles(Imported from the US), and it has never been winter driven. The previous owner gave me all the oil change receipts since he brought it up from the Southern US. He changed the oil every 1500-2000miles.

Since I purchased it I replaced the soft top, paitned/cleaned everything, and did a few thing here and there. My next project is a good sound system, aswell as finishing it's permanent home.

In a year or so I'd like to get a supercharger kit, but I'm not sure yet. Her are some pictures of my baby.

The day I got it:

Getting closer:

Pretty...

Almost clean uner the hood:

Nice Miata!

How was your experience with the import process? Perhaps you could do a write up on how you went about it.

Oh sorry, I didn't actually import it.

The man I bought it from imported it a few years ago. And since then he had it in winter storage, kept all his receipt for oil changes, parts ect. He actually brought two up Miatas from US. One for him and one for his wife.

You could tell he loved his car, and he was sad to see it go. Which is the best person to buy a car from.

cool stuff. Are you planning to paint your pads every time you replace them? or was that just a test to see if you liked it?

Leave the boy alone. I bet he is running EBC RedStuff pads. They come that way.

It was a serious question and I did not consider that.

They were kinda rusty so I just gave them a quick spray. I probably won't bother do it when I buy new ones.

But who know.

I thought you were messing with him. I knew it was a spray job otherwise the caliper wouldn't be the same color.
