Wax,Metal Polish and Detailing Supplies

Lets talk care care products, right now i use nu finish wax because its cheap and my paint looks like crap up close anyway. i Use White Diamond Metal Polish, i swear by that stuff does a great job. and armor all products on the interior.

armor all? you like your dash sloppy and dusty I guess.

303 is so much better and less greeeeezy.

I like meguiar's pro stuff for detailing. safe D greaser and hyper dressing.

I personally don't use armor-all products, but it is just a preference on how glossy (or lack thereof) I like my interior. -Scratch that, I do like the armor-all tire shine. lasts a long time and gives a nice even wetness to the tires. I use 303 for most stuff, but I also like the Mcguires Ultimate protectant dash and trim restorer for the dash. Mother's "Back to Black" is pretty good for weather stripping and hoses, but I hear that BlackWOW is far better. One day I'll try it. For wax, I am using the McGuire's NXT Tech wax 2.0 V3000 ultimegabombbablahblahblah. Seems ok, nothing special. Goes on easy, comes off easy, shine is pretty good. I've tried about 30 different waxes, and they all seem to produce the same shine.

not really sure. I don't have much of an interior to shine or clean anymore...so I prefer dry ice to remove tar?

Diesel, don't forget your suggestion for the engine bay. Menard's generic Super Clean. I used it at full strength on the engine bay yesterday and it did a fantastic job cutting 13 years of dirt and grease. I'm a new convert to Super Clean.

Oh yeah, SHAMELESS PLUG TIME! I found the ultimate degreaser/cleaner. The menard's knock off of Purple Power. It's called Super Clean. By and large the most powerful and effective grease cutter I have found to date. It dominates Simple Green, and works better that the engine degreaser in a can you get at Autozone, and is only about $3.00 for a gallon. Word of warning, at full strength it will burn your hands. wear gloves. :smilie_daumenpos:

A while back when I decided to get into detailing I joined Autogeek. Geez, what a mistake. It can take all my time, attention and money if I let it.

They peddal particular brands but the associated forum is well populated with people using them. Most board members are professionals, so theres a lot of good experience and advice.

Personally I don't dress the interior ever. I dust it, or wash hard plastic with soapy water and microfiber.

For tires, I LOVE the Meguire's tire gel (purple stuff).

For my twice a year protection, I use Collinite insulator wax on the paint after a wash & clay.

I wash with Griot's Garage Waterless wash for light soil, Turtle ICE car shampoo with two-bucket/grit gaurd for heavy soil.

The rest of the year I use XMT 360 spray wax or Meguire's ultimate spray wax after a wash. I find the Meguires to be easier to apply, but the XMT lasts longer.

I got too many products.

bah, I have that much. They're just all from the 90's and below the level of the pickup tube.

anybody ever use breakfluid for the tires? lol

flying_solo 04-30-2012 07:56 AM

I just use to for that water mark effect on my paint.
