Another Hey from Bama
Good morning guys...
just wanted to introduce myself... new to this forum, not new to Miata's...
I have one of each generation.... a very basic but great silver/black 91 thats going to be turning 300,000 miles in the next 6 months or so, a green/tan 2001 that is now in residence at the University of Alabama with my daughter and a gray/black 2006 GT that my wife drives to work every day. I've owned the 91 for 13 years now and although it's starting to show its age just a bit, it's still a blast to drive. no power upgrades, but i do tinker on it a bit... 15" Rota wheels, some interior mods, relocated spare tire underneath trunk, installed an NB steering wheel... things like that. Look forward to using this resource to get another 300k on the odometer!

I'll have to stick the tire back under there and shoot some pix for you. this was actually done by the guy that owned it prior to me, but i believe someone had a kit on how to do it. the exhaust angles a bit sharper than stock to the passenger side of the car just after the differential and the tire hangs pretty much directly behind the driver, held up by the same wing bolt that normally holds the tire down in the trunk. since i just use the car around town i dont have the spare in place right now... but give me a few days and i'll set it up and take some shots. i can actually carry two sets of golf clubs in my trunk (carry bags, not pro bags) with the tire underneath.

I don't carry a spare around either (primarily a track day car). I have roadside assist if absolutely necessary. The tires I use on the street are used and most were free so I wouldn't be afraid to creep along a few hundred yards to safety if needed.
