well me next question was do you notice it cooler around the outside of that. mine gets damn hot and im looking into one of those heatsheilds

I think it helps some. It obviously still gets hot as hell. It's looks nice too, IMO.

I'll answer. Yes, it is the FM heat shield.

Yes, and it works great. You can tell just by feeling the hood. With it off it gets hot, with it on it only gets warm. It's the same theory as any other heat shield. A layer of metal absorbs the initial blast of heat from the turbo, slowly radiating it off the opposite side. I'm sure someone well versed in thermal dynamics will yell at me, but that's a decent explanation.

For $50 you can't go wrong. And it's actually not an FM part, made by Bowser, whatever that means. I'm surprised they still carry it, grab one while you still can.

yea i was looking at getting one. i will probably end up doing it.
