I saw a guy on CR in "the headlight thread" that started the conversion, but didn't fill the space b/w the light and bumper; he eventually went back to barndoors IIRC. I took his idea & tried to "make it fit". Another member on CR (Sprsta) decided to use the barndoors & cut into the headlight to mount the 240 light housing. I wanted to be able to go back to stock if I wanted to relatively easy. I'm currently combing over the body, starting from the rear moving forward, shaving the body line & primer'ing it out. When I get to the headlights, I'm planning to refinish the fitment on them so they sit better on the car along with doing a projector retro-fit. If you need help or anything, hit me up. I had to trim the sides of the housing to get it to fit in the area where the stock Miata lights go. The 240's headlight opening is about an inch or 2 wider than ours.
-edit - were you asking if I used "all the 240 headlight assembly"? Like the motors and whatnot? Not really. THe ebay kit is just the 2 housing pieces, 4 headlights (lenses/beam), & 4 H3 bulbs. I used all the pieces included in the kit, but I didn't use any actual 240 pieces. I dunno if that made sense or answered your question. |
