The president does not have that kind of power. He has no authority to control the price of gas as long as it is a commodity. If gasoline was considered a source like electricity or water it could be regulated to prevent price gouging, but that comes from Congress, not the president. Obama can't lower gas prices more than any candidate. The best bet to prevent it is to stop the government from continuing to pass laws that the people do not ask for.

Obama can't force electric cars on us or lower gas prices. Neither can Paul, Romney, Santorum or Gingrich. Congress needs to be tossed out, or we need a president that has the gall to stand up and tell the people of the country the truth.
