Default Lightened Flywheel or Stock

Oscar finally lost his clutch after some serious floggings and getting it on and off a u-haul trailer. I'm being a bit of a cheap *** as I now have two rides to keep running. Do I spend the extra cash on the full happy meal or just get the burger and no fries? I just put a new clutch in the FD, why do they have to go bad all at the same time?

I have a ACT light flywheel. It has been great, no issues or the transmission buzzing that I have read about.

I just installed the fm1 clutch and 13 lb flywheel, FM had the 10 pounders on back order. I have noticed that I am allowing the revs to climb higher to get the same pep going thru the gears as I did previously. but runs great

If I were in your shoes, having done it already, I wouldn't get another lightened flywheel unless I had extra money laying around. Otherwise, if you're on a budget, try shaving the stock one. I had an 8lb Fidanza, but moved back to a shaved stock (5 lbs off) due to idle issues on my SC'd 99 and transmission noise. It was a good compromise and inexpensive. I've heard people shaving them for as little as $40-50. It's been done by plenty Miata owners before.

I'd put this mod with Frog Arms and Short Shifters. Nice, but lower priority to other mods that could be done, esp. on a budget. $300 can get you some pretty nice other stuff.

Yeah, I'm thinking to just get it resurfaced/shaved at the Napa. RX-7 needs a bigger intercooler more than the Miata needs a lightened flywheel and they aren't cheap!

Thanks for the feedback.
