Just an MZR motor from an NC in a NB. Go turbo and done.

 

I really want a 6 cylinder miata!

 

Toyota 1JZ + turbo.. I <3 the sound.
Honda K20A for the high rpm revs.

I've seen Nissan SR & RB swaps.. but I dunno about the reliability.

 

I'm kinda fond of the QST30 engine, myself.

 

Guess I'm biased since I own another built VQ but even stock the VQ35DE would be a monster in a Miata. Might need to get the front feed manifold.

I'd love to have one for my old Fox-stang coupe, throw on a centrifugal and be done. It'd cost more than my car did new, so, not going to happen...

To be blunt, I'm not really about anything with an iron block/heads. Fave architecture is dohc four-valve.

Since we're dreaming now, why not an all alloy 2.3 Duratec?

DuraTec 60 deg V6?

SHO V6? Iron. But, if the cost is right...

SHO V8? Get the cams fixed...

IIRC, all of these have been successfully been adapted to north-south, T-5 trans using either plates and mustang bellhousings, or custom bells.
