I have this roll bar:
http://www.gomiata.com/harddogextreme.html
and I get made fun of all the time, cause people say, "the miata with the heart shaped roll bar". With the hard top on it looks fine, cause you can't really see the tops; all you see is the diagonals.

I've had this same bar for a year and never even thought about that. Always keep my hard top on though.

My hardtop fits that bar pretty well, the sides rub a bit and I cannot take off my hardtop without completely removing the side latches. I like to leave my top on pretty much year round anyway.
The heart shaped roll bar comment came from some manly lifted diesel truck driving people at work who said, "you bought a miata?...that's gay."
The first mod I did to it was put that roll bar in, so it became known as "the miata with the heart shaped roll bar"...which makes it sound more like a gay lovers car. Then I turbo'd it and spent a lot of time working the bugs out until I was a little satisfied. I told this ---- talker at work that "if my miata had an ***, it would wipe it with his Mustang 5.0". We lined up and he make excuses on why he lost, so I lined up with this other guy who had a ford lightning. When I whipped his ***, the excuse was "the lightning didn't get traction".
The only one of my friends who ever beat me in a drag race, was my friend who had an LS1 6 speed camaro with 125 shot of nitrous and 4.10 gears with slicks. He actually beat me by a few cars...it wasn't even a close race and I had him off the line for a while. Everybody else I raced came close, but not enough. It's funny how fast and how much fun a "gay little car" can be with 225whp.

It's so funny how much of a dog a miata is, but you introduce boost to it and it becomes a totally different animal.
