Default No FEN

Hi Guys'
I have read all the ways that I can get flash codes. I have one serious problem. I have a 03/1997 Mazda Miata. I am trying to read the flash codes but there is no FEN wire (terminal). I will send a pic if needed. I have a check engine light in the dash. Can you help?

That diagram is for a 90-93 car according to the chart. That may be the problem.

I agree but that is the type of connector that I have with all the same pin locations and it appears that some other models have that connector as well. Mine just doesn't have a pin there. The issue may be that I have a check engine light inside the car and there is no need for the lamp light at the FEN location. If that is the case I'm not sure how to read the codes.
FEN = Self-Diagnosis Checker (Monitor Lamp)
MEN = Self-Diagnosis Checker (Code Number)
KLN = Self-Diagnosis Checker

I always went to the auto parts store and let them plug in a code reader (cheating, I know). But they do it for free.

I wish I was more helpful...
