I just double checked and I think I may have been wrong on the crank angle sensor. It may only have the one on the camshaft, unlike my later car.

Help! mx5 is getting fuel, have checked fuses and spark plug wires but still not firing.

Coils bad? Cam angle sensor bad?

just put my motor in today (1.6) and am having the same problem. Cranks but no start double checked wiring, all looks good. STUCK?!?!?
Note: had motor out to do oil pan, head gasket, timing belt etc.

Fuel and spark, which one is missing and why?
