Default crashed 2000 MX-5- how to salvage?

Last week I was sucked under an 18 wheeler in my recently purchased 2000 MX-5. Puzzled as to how the accident happened. Any discussion welcome... I was in left lane, shifting into 5th gear after merge from I-55 to I-12. A 2018 Volvo Semi passed me on the right and I felt my front wheels lose traction. Wild "Cowboy" driving ensued... I rocked down the left lane and avoided rollover to the left. Then, suddenly, my airborne car was drawn into the plastic skirt between front and rear wheels of the trailer. Windshield broke right below rear view mirror when it hit the side reflector on the trailer and then airbags deployed. The truck had slowed by that time and pulled over to side, my car butt was in right lane. I knew right away I was not really injured. YAY! Basically got a fat lip and derma-abrasion by the airbag. Not even a nosebleed or black eye. Call me "Lucky!"

Now I need to dispose of the damaged car. Do not want to attempt repair due to insurance concerns after airbag deployment, Plus I am grateful to survive something that could be worse next time. Hope someone in the Louisiana area will want it for salvage. The engine cranks and still runs great. 65000 actual miles. I presume the transmission is ok too. Has 500.00 of new tires. The replacement convertible top appears to be salvageable as well as the whole left side and rear end. It is covered, in storage and I want to be out from $25.00 per day storage fee without dragging it 300 miles to Houston.. All ideas will be considered. Also, I have completely clear Mississippi title

Default just checking...

New to this kind of forum and all. A little addled but glad to be alive!...I see several people have viewed this but no replies. Did I do the posting right or is there just no interest? .This is a test to see what happens with a response.. Anyway an online salvage co. has offered me 415.00 and will take the car asap to stop storage fees. Is that the best amount I will get? I just lost $5,000. and the dream of a fun Miata retirement with my hubby. Tow and storage creeping to $1000.
Hard to let go of that engine for this amount but it will stop the bleed... If anyone sees this please let me know if I made a mistake in posting. If still no response I guess I did...Thanks for listening!

why don't you take a junk a car towing service? Recently I have used from 24 Hour NYC Towing Services, they perform their job in a professional way. i am very impressed, Well other members may be busy they couldn't reply so far i guess.
