no no, What I am looking for is different from ABS plastic. Its not a plastic at all (in a similar way that you don't call carbon fiber plastic), its some kind of fiber based material. I will get in touch with one of my old Formula buddies and post what it is.

EDIT: here it is, Tegris:

Cool. The stuff you're referring to is like FRP (like Saturn body panels) or fiberglass reinforced plastic only with carbon fiber instead of glass fiber and probably a somewhat different plastic (transparent).

Heck I just learned something. Thanks for the link.

EDIT: Guess I'm off a bit. Technically I guess it's still fiber reinforced plastic.
Just a different and high-tech kind. Sounds like good stuff.

it was amazing, very light weight and very stiff. We were using it to solidify the tube chassis. Probably overkill, but I think the idea was to demonstrate high tech materials of the future.

Its very likely that this stuff is expensive as ----, we got it for free due to university and stuff. I think the company is in Charlotte, so I may harass them about letting me buy a few sheets depending on the price. Maybe I can get a discount and put their logo on my car.
