I'm looking for a used Mazda Miata hardtop for my son's 1999 Limited Edition. The rag top is all but shot and he refuses to replace it with another rag top and wants a hard top instead. I'm thinking it might make a nice graduation gift.....but I've got no clue where to find one of these bad boys OR what extra equipment (latches, etc.) might be needed to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They seemingly refer to them as Frankenstein bolts which are situated in front of the trunk lid where there is a flat chrome plate with two screws. If the car originally came with a hard top those bolts will already be in place. Otherwise nothing further required. Try sites like Kijiji or your local auto wreckers and expect to pay about 6 - 8 hundred dollars for a decent one. Good luck.
