Hey Zack- Where did you get that tach face?


I'm only running one boost gauge on the a-pillar. Nothing fancy.

Full set of JDM gauge faces showed up on CR about a year or so back, so I snagged them immediately. :D

I have the Autometer Cobalt Water and Oil Temp gauges (Oil not installed yet) and also the Innovate Motorsports LC-1 Wideband gauge. Very bright at night and work great in the day but I don't like where they are placed at because it's distracting to look down while on the track.

Try switching the positions of the radio and the gauge panel, it actually makes a noticeable difference when you glance down at it. I did that to mine a while back, this is the way mine is set up for now:

where did you get those end caps for where the console ends? and is the window switch move a custom job?

Yeah, I thought about doing that but I haven't been able to get the radio out yet despite the tips from online guides. I'll have to try again in the next couple of weeks, thanks.

The radio is one tough bitch to get out. I totally agree with you there. It might be easier if you remove the gauges first so you can push on it from below.

I got it from a local Miata owner. The kit (console cap, carpet, and shifter trim) was made by a company in Japan called D-Technique. The console cap is one piece and retains the power outlet and moves the window switches there. The carpet covers most of the transmission tunnel and is held down via sewn on velcro and the shifter ring stays in place via a bracket that bolts to the top of the rubber shift boot. The amount of room it frees up by deleting the center console is very nice.

If you can take the gauge panel out, you can see or feel the "latches" that hold the radio in place, they're on either side close to the dash panel. You can actually get at them with your fingers, press them in toward the body of the radio and it will slide forward. This would be instead of pulling the two trim tabs off either side of the radio and using Ford/Mazda radio removal keys to remove it. Then it's just a matter of switching the spots and plugging everything back in.

I've got a TrackDog slanted panel over the radio with:
Oil pressure
Oil temp
Voltmeter

All by Equus: they are cheap but functional and look decent (VDOlike).
They came wired with sensors and sensors adapter.
I plan to replace them with VDO in a while

Then I've got an A-pillar 3 with:
VDO Water temp (with its own sensor in the "right" place)
A watch (???)
an empty space now (pic is old...).

The A-pillar will get an A/F (Innovate or Tektronics).

On hindsight i should have got all VDOs in the first place and a A-pillar with just 2 holes but I couldn't find few months ago.
On the other hand the A-pillar is solid (it replaces the original plastic) and it's not so terribly annoying turning left.

Boost with a supercharger is not going to move that much.
I thought to add a single or dual Air Temp before/after the intercooler by Gary from TrackDog told me "do you really want to drill holes in the IC?"

So that's it. :)

I've got my boost gauge in one of the center vents, the remaining 3 vents definitely flowed more as a result. I'm about to install my Innovate wbo2 in a single pod pillar from FM.
