Default Hello

Hi all,
Just purchased a 91 green miata. Car was previously running in STS class in autox....currently going through it to evaluate and fix what is needed. Engine has 145000 on it, and am considering rebuilding the head.

Just wanted to say hi, and am looking forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge about the car, like I have on other forums.

Welcome to the board! I figure if the car was competitive, it was maintained pretty well. Here's to hoping not a lot to take care of.

Welcome aboard. Redcap is right about the need for mods on the car. The previous owner may have done the work for you. What do you want to do with the car???

The folks here are genuinely helpful. They have saved me from doing a number of dumb (and potentially expensive) things.

A little bump in compression can be had with a valve job and a resurfacing of the face of the head. I wouldn't think it was necessary unless you have seen low compression numbers, though. These little engines go 300k+ miles without being opened up in most cases, unless routine maintenance has been neglected or something catastrophic occurs.

Welcome to the forum!
