Default Hello from outside Pittsburgh Pa

I'm a newbie from outside Pittsburgh Pa. Have a 1996 MX5 that I've been driving for 10 years. I was always a sports car fan, having owned a 1958 Triumph TR3 and 1980 MGB. The MG was sold in 2003. So I was out of the sport car business for about a year until I came across the Miata. Although it did run great and looked fairly good ( needed some work) I was not very happy with the steering. Just seemed to sensitive compared to the English cars. But I went back several times to test drive it. What the hell I bought it and have loved it ever since. It is the most reliable fun car to drive I have ever had.

Welcome to the forum.

I depowered the steering on my '96. It is a common modification because the car doesn't need it, it is overboosted with it, and it gets in the way of some of the turbo plumbing.

Remove the pump and plumbing, drain the rack, loop the lines, and get the car realigned to reduce the factory caster of ~5.5 degrees down to about 3.8 or 4 degrees.

I have a '69 Austin Healey Sprite and used to have an Opel GT.
