newbie here from MA. i don't have a miata ... yet, but finding one is on my to-do list ... as i do my search, i was just wondering if there are certain things to look for (good)?? or to avoid? particular years that maybe were better, or years that had more problems?? just looking for any input you'd care to share, from those in the know??? thanks, in advance ...

welcome to miata forumz, there are a few things to look out for. read the two buying used sections and look for those specific things. i know of at least 1 that is still for sale in our classifieds but he's in texas. good luck and see you around.

Welcome to the forum! In case you weren't sure, all the cool kids drive NBs.

My advice, buy something that has never seen snow and you will be much happier working on it. These are very simple and forgiving cars that are enjoyable to work on as long as you aren't snapping off rusted bolts.

The Miata.net will cover a lot of the stuff you should avoid. Keith Tanner several books out that are nice reference when researching what you want to buy:

Amazon Amazon

He has several others that provide some help on doing common maintenance, tuning, etc. Most of it you can find in the forums, but it is nice to have it in book form.
