New to me 2001 SE
After much searching I found what I wanted. A 2001 SE BRG with a hard and soft top.
70,000 original miles and it's a dream to drive.
I live at 4000" elevation and we get a lot of snow so I wanted the hard top.
I'll be parking it at my son place down the hill a ways where it doesn't snow much during the winter. In my younger days I had a Sunbeam Alpine (1961) and I have wanted another sports car since then.
I am looking forward to gleaning much information from the forum.
I'll download a picture as soon as I figure that process out. I guess I'll have to get back on photobucket as the thingy at the top here wants a URL to go to rather than taking one from my computer. I did a search on downloading pictures but to no avail. If someone can whip a link on me it would appreciated.

Thanks. I am having a great time with the Miata. We got 4 feet of snow here over Christmas and I finally got the driveway plowed out yesterday. Tonight we got another 3 inches Oh well that's life at 4000 ft. elevation.
My first project will be to replace the rag top. It came with a hardtop and being it's winter I won't be using the rag top 'till spring so that project cam be put on hold "till then.

Man that has to be beautiful there right now. Make sure you buy the top that has the seams on it that's the factory style and they seal better. Plus make sure you get the rain rails with it because those are always really brittle and broken and the problem when you find water in the back of a car and in the trunk it's leaking through the top down into the rain rail. That water gets underneath the top gets into the rain rails and drips in your car. Then through the pakage tray behind the seats . Soaks into the wool which never dries then drips in the trunk. It also fills up the floor boards.

I will be removing the rag top prior to buying a replacement. I have read several posts regarding what you have said. Actually the replacement tops are not as expensive as I thought they would be. The rain rails vary in price depending of course on quality. I will generally be using the convertible top when I stop to shop etc for security reasons as well as keeping the hot sun off the seats and interior. It gets very hot over on this side on the mountains and down in the valley. The hard top is a God send in the winters.
