New Owner In The Sooner State
Actually almost a new owner. I'm going to go pick up a red 2002 Saturday. We wanted something fun to drive as an extra car. I looked at old MGs, Triumphs and such but then decided to go newer, and automatic, so my wife can drive it too. Can't wait til Saturday.

You should have bought one sooner.
Where's that midget with the snare drum and cymbal that is supposed to be following me around?
As someone with a reasonable amount of old British car experience, I can say you have made an excellent choice! The car will have the nimble, low to the ground feeling of the Brit roadsters but with the benefit of Japanese construction and engineering. It will be reliable and fun. And the one you are getting will have variable valve timing on the intake camshaft which will broaden the torque curve and give it a stronger mid-range.
I still have a '69 Austin Healey Sprite in my garage (not running, of course).
