Default got a building and friend

Our son has a great relationship with a guy that has a diesel shop. When he gets a gas car in ,he calls the son and ask him to come work on it for him and pays him well. The son has had a key with unlimited access to it for a couple of years which is something even the hired help does not have.
The son was able to take his cars and ours along with anyone elses car and work on it at no charge in the shop even if he charged for the work.
The guy is getting so much work now that the son and I talked about him not doing any work in the guys shop as it was so hard on the guy to get a bay open for him or us to work.
A few days ago the shop owner buys another building across the street and it is in two sections. The son ask about renting the smaller side and the guy just said done as well as the big fenced in area . Could not believe how cheap we got it far .
Now,we have a place to get all of his tools and big air compressor together in one spot and yet close enough of we need something special from his friend it is a short walk.
I have a good place to do my winter project miata .

^You asked for it!
Sorry I had to. That sounds pretty sweet that he practically has his own shop to work out of, good for him! and you I guess

yeah it is a good deal, it's not a real big place but enough to get a couple of miatas in at a time or one really big pick up or car.
The nice thing is when the son and his wife are gone and I want to do something I can .
The way it was I could only do work when the shop owner was around or the son
The sons wife already has something for him to do on hers says she will be his first job in it and it will come with percs . Guess he is going to have to trade that out lol

Very nice!

Myself and a few close friends are renting a place that's roughly 1500sq/ft and in order to get something like that it's out in the sticks. It's hard to get motivated to go out there when it's an hour's drive from your house.

Mazduh
I know exactly what you are saying. There are buildings around that are cheap but they are a very long drive. One of our sons has a 30 x 40 building we could use for personal repairs but it is roughly an hour past our house.
The son that has the building with me said it is really hard for me to go past my house to work on something and it likely ain't gonna happen.
He works for a company that sells precision sheet metal equip and after a day of working and traveling I fully understand him not wanting to drive another hour to work on something
We took the car on the trailer up today and unloaded it plenty of room to work, will probably go get tool box and take air comp up tomorrow. That tool box with tools weighs a ton I bet

Worth it though. Here's an early photo from when we just finished painting the floor.
