Sorry dudes, we don't really have the population over here to get a good race going. Head over to mt.net, or just ask to join the MT car club and keep an eye on the thread over there. We do a spec race every Sunday around 8pm eastern.

So far we've done a spec civic, mr-2, e30, and we're working on a viper.

Don't be so mean either, "grounds for removal". Keep it to a certain car class and if anyone feels like cheating (there hasn't been any yet at mt[except a miscommunication that gave two drivers 7+hp b/c turbo/super]), they probably still won't win. We have a few guys that are generally 2-3 seconds faster than me, 10-20hp while sacrificing grip (to keep within car class) wouldn't help me one bit.

You also should specify a class, like B-500. That way things like a few of the uber-light wheels don't bump you up to A-501.

We also like to keep it all about the tune, so pretty much any car we do will have race suspension, front/rear spoilers for adjustability, race sways, and either sport or race transmissions. And hopefully they'll continue to all have race brakes/tires.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 07:46 AM

Hey curly, I'm not trying to be a dick with the grounds for removal. Just trying to make a point. I'm also trying to help stir up so action on here, it's been boring around here lately. I was looking at mt's but I figure most of that is ---- talking and I'm really just doing this for shits and giggles.

Track 12-01-2011 07:48 AM

an admirable cause indeed. we needs to get more peoplez on here.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 07:51 AM

I think when I get home from class I will post a link to this on mt I really need to decide a date and time for the first race.

curly 12-01-2011 08:01 AM

Sorry, wasn't calling you a dick, just mentioning it might ward off some peeps. Get enough people and host them wednesday/thursday and I'll join up, I work every sunday night.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 08:04 AM

Done, can you help get some people over here for them? I know if they race Sunday nights there are other people over at mt that can run with them either.

curly 12-01-2011 08:22 AM

Be ready with a good car, we haven't done a Miata yet, but remember we have to change every week. Or at least we like to.

Something with a longish straight would be nice, we've done a lot of technical courses requiring 5.0+ final gearing. Finding a balance between straight line speed and acceleration would be interesting.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 08:40 AM

If you can get 2-3 more we can run tonight.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 09:11 AM

Attn changes made, transmission is now sport

Flier129 12-01-2011 09:37 AM

Come join us on Sunday nights! I would really like to see a consistant 10+ people racing with us!

The S700 ACR Viper at Laguna Seca this weekend should be fun. Going to finalize the parts list tonight!

I'll try to join in on these spec races as much as I can. :)

MT.net thread: http://www.miataturbo.net//showthread.php?t=61591

curly 12-01-2011 10:02 AM

We still need a track and class. Which track it we'll be at severely changes my transmission ratios.

And time? I might be able to shove a race in around 5 or 6 pacific.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 10:20 AM

Plan for 10:30 pm Est. track will be laguna seca

curly 12-01-2011 11:39 AM

So that's getting me a clean 1:44.2xx after only a few laps. Sound reasonable?

Any reason we're not maxing out B class? I'm currently B-445, a turbo setup gives us 28 more hp and still some wiggle room for race brakes, chassis stiffening, or even more power upgrades.

Great thing about these races is it "forces" you to tune and then race a car for 30-40 laps, leaving you with a very competitive car for similar courses in the campaign. I'd have to fiddle with this onea bit since it's between C and B.

Edit: to put things in perspective, Flier with a B-500 NA is getting 1:37.2xx, albeit dirty.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 12:46 PM

the next one will be class races, this one i was thinking keeping it fairly true to actual spec miatas.
How you at 445 im at 438

Flier129 12-01-2011 01:09 PM

10:30pm est tonight?

My B-class NA is pretty badass, it's a nice little hot-lap car(multiple top 200s) and if I don't get smashed too many times it can dominate some lobbies. FYI it runs a centrifugal s/c at about 230hp or so, 2200lbs too I believe. Tuned to my driving style.

I'll make this spec miata tonight and I should be on to race :)

You said wheels are open:firedevil:

edit: is stock size 14" or 15"? Cause I never changed that. If you have a slightly heavier wheel along with 1" bigger, that might make up for a few points, not 7 though. Dunno what's happening there. No chassis reinforcements, right? I know a cage takes away a point, since they're so heavy.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 01:24 PM

14 inch

mine is as you read in the begging, im running konig wheels

curly 12-01-2011 01:27 PM

Oh and add me as a friend on xbl, curly2duz. Makes the start much quicker. You're hosting, yes?

curly 12-01-2011 01:58 PM

Whoops, still had an street oil cooler setup giving me +3hp, for a whopping 5 class points.

Again, a good way to avoid mistakes like this (although I freely admit it was mine) is to make sure to list hp, torque, weight, and class limits. That way anything like 14" rims or oil coolers don't get mistakenly installed.

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 02:21 PM

yes my xbl is "XinsanemuscleX

Is this legit? Because I'm 1964lbs, with those exact hp/tq figures.

I've double and triple checked, I'm correct according to the list, did you do this to eliminate some of the lighter wheels?

hustler 12-01-2011 03:46 PM

An SM does not make 161hp and weight is 2300lb with NASA. I'll share my SM mod list later which is more true to the rules in regards to numbers and lap times. I will also crush all of you.

Add me, "SirHustlerEsq".

RedTurboMiata 12-01-2011 03:53 PM

wow, thats light, how about max weight of 2000lb.

Flier129 12-01-2011 04:59 PM

1:40.774 with those parts ;)

Hentai 12-01-2011 05:38 PM

I think I will join this one.
