Well the looseness of the setup is showing. so we are going to as a forum set the rules for the thursday night racing. So we need to A decide on damage settings, and a caution system. B TCS ABS and STM so some feedback is awsome.

I was unaware that the MT Sunday night crew was running a full damage, "if you flip, you watch" setup, as any and all races I've ran with them hasn't resulted in a flipped or seriously damaged car.
I believe this particular mustang/sunset race highlighted the extreme weaknesses of these rules, as the car itself is prone to flipping and the curbs aren't the smallest, with lots of left/right complexes to set you up for disaster.
I realize realism is desirable, but so is having fun. I think limited damage would be the easiest, we don't have to delay the race by waiting for everyone to catch up to the lead lap, and the flipped car has the penalty obviously of waiting for his car to flip back over. It would also stop drivers who are prone to wreaking ball styled driving.
If we were doing this for money it'd be one thing, but we're not. Personally I'm out to have fun. We hardly wanted to start the race with four people in the lobby, yet once we had six and two flipped, that leaves us with FOUR. The more the better, and if reducing damage settings keeps more people in the race, lets do it.
Didn't we all consider a handicap system a few pages back? Reducing damage would bring us all closer together. The guys up front who are obviously more precise aren't damaging their cars, so they wouldn't speed up any, yet the slower guys would be able to retain all or most of their power and aero. I personally lost 20mph down the front straight with 100% body damage and everything else at 0%.
To put this all in perspective, I have cobbled together my miata in real life out of 2nd hand parts, and installed everything myself, a non professional mechanic. Yet in the 5 years I have been racing, I haven't once gone off track or damaged my car on track. Where's the realism there?

Why can't we just make them optional to those who want them? I happen to be faster with TC on, why can't I run it? It's not like it's shoving me to the front. And if you're faster with it off, by all means, run with it off. Forcing me to do so just so I can loose by 8000 feet instead of 4000 feet doesn't make sense.

The solution is to stay off the curbs. It worked for me.

People can argue that no TC is more realistic. We are an elite group who actually has track experience and know what it feels like when you are slipping a tire at 8% and 10%, you can feel it through the seat. You can't do it on a video game, "no assists" is not realistic.

Are these the commandments? Do these rules have to be set in stone? It sounds like you want one set of rules to use for any and all future races. I don't know why tweaking them week to week is an issue.
The caution thing wasn't thought out ahead of time and didn't work the second time, I was the only one to stop AFAIK. Next week we allow limited damage, problem solved*.
*assuming you can self-flip with limited damage.
