Mine is already all covered in rock chips, I would only be protecting the exposed bare metal.

Two years ago, a guy with a new GT500 taped his completely up and then did two runs and left. He had paid for the entire weekend, but didn't want to mess up his baby. He wasn't pushing it either, I passed him several times in the miata.

The only guy I've ever seen tape up the whole front of his car had just gotten his elise back from the paint shop after some other guy crashed into it when he blew the stop box at an autocross. Other than that, some people tape the corners at the bottom, but I never bother.

I won't track a car I can't afford to damage. Tape won't save his car. I tracked a $36k car once and then I smarted up. Of course, I didn't tape it up either.
