I havent really driven mch of the newer miatas, but Im a much bigger fan of the NA's. I dont know what it is, I like the way they look more, the simplicity that they have. ect.

yea well, let me tell you if the NB got any simpler (other than emissions), it wouldn't drive.

my engine bay could fit a child in it its so empty now. There is a giant hole around my exhaust manifold thats crying "TURBO ME".

I will drive an NA6 one day! Just not this weekend.

From my experience, the NA and NB are pretty much the same car, with more cosmetic changes than structural or mechanical.

There are few driving experiences for which I'd trade my NA, but NBs feel considerably more composed. "Buttoned down," as a dude put it.

Mines crying turbo me too, soon enough! soon enough.

so after reading some more about the NA6, I think there is two things to do to get your NB/1.8NA to handle and feel like the original. Or atleast get close:

1) induce more oversteer. original NA had an FRC of 55%, the NB has 63%.
2) move to the 1.6L flywheel and clutch for increadible engine response.

Thats it, if you do those two, you will have the NA6+~30hp. Atleast thats all the difference I noticed, weight is there of course, but 100-150 lbs more is nothing when you add 30% power. And for the handling case, stiffer springs will easily make up for the increased body roll. oh wait, the NB already HAS stiffer springs...

It's way more than 100-150lbs difference. The 1.6 tub is already 100+lbs lighter than the NA 1.8 and some NB's tip the scales at over 2600lbs.

And of course my favorite part, CHEAP turbo parts

You can keep your silly, pig heavy NB's

Love the NB for a cruiser. If I tracked or did anything requiring precision, NA is where I'd be.

Eventually I will get another NA. But not until the NB gets to where I want it.

I disagree with the slight implication that the NB can't be a precise car. the lack of precision in the NB is all in a slightly tweeked motion ratio, spring rates, and sway bars compared to the NA8/NA6.

With that said, the weight difference is also there, but minor if anything.
