how are you doing that?

Dntlift 11-03-2011 10:43 PM

1.8 bored 1 mm over. technically its a 1.885 but whatever

RedTurboMiata 11-03-2011 10:52 PM

sounds like a project. shoulda up'd it to 2.0.

Track 11-03-2011 11:13 PM

Next 5 days:

-Finish control arm bushings
-Finish coilover install
-Install RB front sway bar
-counter weighted + realigned

From now till end of december:
-finish CAI intake
--RA w/ MVPTrackTime
--RA w/ NASA-SE
-get oil-cooler, install
-rework radiator ducting
-get hands on 01+ front bumper OR buy the RB bumper
-Get hard top
-Consider ducting brakes, but never get around to it unless I get some fade at my RA events.

Dntlift 11-03-2011 11:43 PM

2.0 doesnt work. too big of a bore without lots of exttra work/sleeving/ ect. if at all possible. So overall not quite worth it.

So yeah, get dat bitch it.
rewire my wideband again...
tune the piss out of it, put the 1.8 in, tune the piss out of it again.
Drive the piss out of it in dec :D
other small general wiring stuff, seq injection, spark, shift light, LC tablesw for ebc (wayyyyy down the road but still good to wire now) ect.

hmmm, what else. thats really about it, maybe a bigger swaybar if one ever pops up for sale.

I wanted to upgrade my cooling, to a peace of mind next autox season, since I plan on being active during the heat waves (i got into it after it already cooled down this season). Unfortunately my choice of mishimoto parts results in some fitment issues + I got a lemon core, so I'm waiting on replacements now.

I want to get the miata roadster short shifter, but can't decide if I want the stock height for looks + better shifting, or the angled tall version for ugly but much better shifting. Also going to replace my type-r style knob with a ball style one, haven't decided which. I like the extra weight of my blox type-r, but I can't get used to the shape.

I'm also waiting on my reverant built ms2, want to get tuning sorted out this winter. Raised redline to improve gearing is high on my priority. Then more linear boost delivery, and lastly a little more power. Found someone willing to e-tune me for a really good rate.

Lastly, when spring is close enough, I'll finally get some real rubber to mount to the 15x9+36 wheels I have sitting around.

If my budget entails, around spring time, I'd also like to buckets, harness bar, and harnesses. If not, I'll just continue to use whatever muscles are free to brace myself...

+1. Why??

y8s 11-04-2011 11:41 AM

after almost 11 years of ownership, I think I'm ready to move on. I want something more comfortable for fat, old y8s. like a four door e30 with four wheels driving things. and some other newer family car.

Track 11-04-2011 12:01 PM

family car? growing up sounds like it sucks.

dieselmiata 11-04-2011 12:11 PM

I just brought home a red 92 that I'm stripping down to parade rest and rebuilding from the ground up. The idea is that by the time summer comes around next year, this one will look like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

FRT_Fun 11-04-2011 01:11 PM

My winter project? Save money lol.

you're projecting your opinion on me.

it is silly to think that my youth and vigor revolve around owning a miata.

yea, I guess I am associated growning up with not having a miata...either way, good luck to ya! does that mean you will no longer be with us?

loki34 11-04-2011 03:02 PM

Strip the engine compartment and clean and paint everything. Install new steering wheel plus add some rear stiffening. Might upgrade the sound system also, haven't decided on that yet.

RedTurboMiata 11-04-2011 03:09 PM

i wish i had a garage that i could use for a couple months, my dads DD stays in it.

oh i'll stick around. where else will I get my politics?

in any case, there's nothing un-fun about a turbo e30 or something similar. it's only a few pounds heavier than a miata and holds 3 child seats. plus long wheelbase, tight turning radius, and huge caster. i could take kids drifting.

hahahaha, totally didn't read that! I stopped at the "I want something more comfortable for fat, old y8s..." since I saw family sedan right under it.

If you are moving to an e30, then kudos to ya buddy! I want to get one too :D

Mazduh 11-04-2011 03:32 PM

I'm really just hoping to pick up a few more suspension bits and a rollbar. I also wanna find another set of wheels to wrap a race tire on. :D

mytwo 11-04-2011 08:41 PM

will be trying to finish making the decision of finishing a race car or rebuilding my other 96 with parts from the race car. Then following throuh with the rebuild
Leaning toward doing a rebuild and then take what is left of the race car and let some one have it pretty cheap. Since I now have some storage room then I could hold onto it until the right person comes along

The Driver 11-07-2011 12:18 PM

I need to drop my running splits back to the 8:30- 9:10 on both 10K and 15K's. Also want to improve my 1/2 marathon speed.

I'll be joining a "rock climbing" gym here in Tulsa. When I move back to Colorado, I'm gonna climb like there is no tomorrow (specially if I were to slip and fall :sad2: )

The car will be getting Vmaxx and the FM chassis stiffener and MAYBE some 6Uls loving...

RedTurboMiata 11-07-2011 04:36 PM

i want the vmaxxs and chassis braces

ZippyMX-5 11-23-2011 09:07 PM
