I think at some point the info was put in wrong on the quote I gave you. Looking more into it you are correct...

94-97 Mazda Miata 265cc - Tan Top #195500-2180

Thanks for the correction!

Yes, the stock injectors in my '96 were supposed to be 265cc.

Yes, a Brain built MegaSquirt can have the same or similar components as the MSPNP on the Bell site you linked or different components because he custom builds them tailored to your needs. There are base maps around for many of the common injector sizes including 460cc from the Mazda rx7. You can find those used and have them professionally cleaned and tested for very little money. They are a common upgrade for a Miata with a standalone ECU.

IMHO, that isn't as good as the DIYPNP: http://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/features.html

but it only comes as a kit that you (or someone) has to assemble.

Ok I will have to take your word for it everyone is telling me your the man when it comes to this stuff I just dont want to have to do this 26 times to get it right I dont mind trying to figure out how to tune this I just dont want to have to buy the same parts over and over again maybe you can PM me a price to build one if your up for it anyone have any idea what injectors I should be using ?

How will these DIY kits help me over the prebuilt and what kind of custom stuff can be done to them that will matter to me ? I am a first timer be gentile.

Thx for all the help so far guys I have been reading everything.

The difference between those two ECUs is like the difference between a 1.6L and a built 1.8L with VVT.

both work, but one is better than the other; just required a little bit of effort to build the internals and make use of fancy features like VVT.

Price point is exactly the same as the price on the BEGi site.

If you do go this route, you'll want to buy a wbo2, and then sell the FMU and those 265cc injectors. You'll want to find a set of 460cc injectors or above.

This thing will replace your factory ECU and you'll be in control of everything, from fuel and timing maps, to what temperature you want the cooling fan to activate.
