Recommended Upgrade for MSM Bilsteins

I think it's Tito. I know his last name is Ortiz. He does a pdf style, old school blog on suspension. He's a suspension consultant to Daytona prototype teams. He does a Q&A newsletter that's about 10-pages long on the response. I can't seem to find it with google.

AST with double digressive piston. It's one of those "holy grail" dynos from what I understand about the world of suspension. That's what goes in Grand-Am cars, you can probably get them in your Xidas for a small fee.
In regard to your comment about using a set-up that's uncomfortable on the street, and liking it on the track, I disagree. A "good ride" on the street means the shock and spring are working together to put the wheel on the ground, you want this on the track. A lot of times we compromise ride on the street to have a stiff feeling with no body roll on the track because most people, myself included, prefer a stiff car and hard tires because they are easier to drive and more predicatble. If you go softer, you'll have more grip because comfort means performance with shocks, deal with the body roll. That or order Xidas and get the best of both worlds. I think 949 has "best of both worlds" on DVD in a hidden link.

Maybe, I have never driven an Xida car, so I will respond to that if I ever do.
I think comfort maybe the dirty word here. I find my setup comfortable, but I think people will complain. its safe to say that no matter the shock if a car with 900 lb springs hits a 1" sharp bump in the road, its not going to feel comfortable unless you have marshmellows for tires.
now you have a bunch of cracked asphault...a proper shock and spring combo should handle that fine. probably give a new meaning to salt shaker though

You are totally incorrect. I just drove through Houston for the first time on my new ASTs for the daily. Previously, the 115/95 spring combo on Bilsteins was BRUTAL, nearly undrivable, it hurt bad to drive in the city. Today the 600/400 spring combo defies conventional logic. The harder you hit the cracked up pavement, the smoother the ride.
A car that is faster over bumps will absorb the "shock" and not affect the chassis. If the bump in the road does not affect the chassis, that bump does not alter the balance or load on the tires, and its smooth in the car. Comfort = grip. There is a limit on comfort with spring rate, its over 700 lb.

^ makes sense. It's all good, I think I am slightly in disbelief because I haven't experienced this. Anyways, lets stick to helping Mr. Shane with his choosing. Since I am doubtful he has the big bucks to spend on Xidas, I would suggest sticking to reasonable spring rates for the Bilsteins.
MSM bilsteins are a good buy for sure...but since you have them, just get the sleeves and springs, and enjoy!

No No. I enjoy the read. But alas, like you said, just going to get some good springs. 450/300 7" long and some sleeves. That's about the budget for the suspension right now. I've got to get my stock ECU fixed before anything.
EDIT: Oh yeah. And I really don't want to lower it that much. Maybe .5" front and 1-1.5" rear.
