What supercharger was on your old car? Obviously the new car is making a lot more power, but how do you like the turbo vs. supercharger so far?

I had the jackson at 10 lbs. It was a blast. Instant power whenever I wanted it. But there's nothing like running 12-13's in a track capable street car. The torque was great for an auto x but I wouldn't go back for a minute.

Beautiful car. How do you like the Xede? Any reason you went with that over a standalone?
My car is currently NA, and I'm still debating what kind of forced induction to add. I think I'm going to install a MegaSquirt first, then I just need to decide between a TDR MP62, a 2560r turbo kit, or a Rotrex... |
XEDE is good for the Drivability. I ran mspnp on my last car and it was a nice system but I'm not great with Drivability, cold starts, idle tuning. 13lbs was easy to tune on the XEDE. But if I want to go higher ill need a standalone.

Well. Put it back together and my EGR tube was cracked. I cut it off about an inch or two off of the header and crimped the pipe closed, then welded it shut. As for the other end, I unbolted the pipe and cut the flange flat, then filled the inlet with weld. Worked like a charm. If you don't have a welder you can just get the Block off plate

It's time for a fuel pump. Old one might be tired, or reached it's limitations (those of which I don't know). I went with the Walbro 190 High Pressure version. It suits my needs and it's not known to be loud. I purchased the install kit with it, although the only thing I used from the install kit was the filter and the isolator. The whole project took me maybe 35 minutes while taking pictures for you guys.
Pump is accessible from the rear deck inside the car. I lifted the carpet, removed the plate and BAM! Fuel pump assembly. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 To avoid the smell of fuel in my car for weeks to come, i've decided to protect the area from spillage.. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Disconnected my lines, pulled them to the side with the rag and unbolted my fuel assembly. She's ready to come up. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Came out quite easily - Remember to let the filter bag drain. It does this slowly but it's better than dripping fuel all over your carpet  https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 She's out.. Looks.. like a fuel pump. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Old VS New https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 The stock connectors were not compatible with my new pump.. The new pump had a couple of male spades inside of a proprietary looking connector. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Chopped those off and used female spades, with a little heat shrink tubing. (Don't use a lighter to shrink btw):sly: https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 New pump installed and on it's way back to the car. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Decided to touch up the bottom and top of the plate with some noise dampening material. Just in case it's louder. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1313009617 Slapped it back together, cycled the key a couple of times to clear any air and she started right up. |
Nice plate
