Glad to hear she did a weekend of flogging with no issues. Well done! Good point on the location of the GP in the mouth. I'll play around with mine as well here in a bit.

Yay, videos! At one point youtube said it would take 394 minutes to upload this video with my wireless card. Then I got to a 4g area and it improved.

This was the second session on Saturday morning. I had just swapped wheels between sessions and these skinny 5yr old 14" RS2s on stock wheels were overinflated and got very slick as they heated up. I was very inconsistent and was relearning the track since it had been 6 months since I was there last. And I also needed to settle my nerves. The car was so much different with the turbo and the suspension changes that there was a big learning curve on where to brake as well. I did much better in subsequent sessions.

I almost lost it overcooking the braking zone out of the back stretch into 17. The car had a lot more speed than it ever did before but the same amount of brakes and tires. I went two wheels off in turn 3 overcooking it just after that on those slippery tires. I had to go explain myself to "the man" after that.

More videos to follow as I get them uploaded.

Director's note - Camera was moved around to try different angles throughout the weekend. This one is inside the mouth of the bumper.

Third session on Sunday was much improved. I was running the proper line mostly but still turned in slightly early when following another car from time to time.

This is what it looks like when a Miata is passing other cars and not constantly being passed. I'm still getting used to it. On stock power my left arm would have been sunburned from giving so many point-bys, but everything is much better now except for being on hard skinny little 195/60/R14 tires.

You guys keep an eye out for some 14 or 15 inch scrub tires in an r-compound for me, please!

15x9s and RS3 or R1R 225s and you will love it. I run CarboTech XP8s as well. I can brake very deep. Jealous of all that passing without people needing to park their cars on the straights. BTW, there is a 15x9 with good rubber on MT.net right now for $850

I have to ride their butt in the turns to remind them on the straight to let me bye. Then I have to put up with them riding my butt on the straights for a turn or two.

That off wasn't too bad in the last video, I thought you did well keeping it straight and safely re-entering. "My instructor taught me better." LOL

Update-
Went by ISC Racing's shop this week over in Winter Haven. Nice guys over there. They have about two dozen Miatas in the shop, the parking garage, and in a double decker tractor-trailer race car trailer that they use to take cars to the track. They build spec Miatas and other types of race Miatas as well. I bought a couple of their custom tophats to allow a bit more suspension travel. I also picked up some used 205/50/15 race tires so I can try to dog out my buddies at Sebring next time. Sticky tires are sticky...

I am going to install a weaker wastegate actuator and add the Greddy electronic boost controller I picked up a couple of years ago to add some crispness to the boost onset for fun. Going from a 14psi wastegate actuator to a 7psi one will let me do a couple of things. It will allow me to adjust it so that the wastegate flapper is normally closed (right now it has to stay cracked open or I go over my self-imposed 10psi limit). It will allow me to have three levels of boost on demand: Wastegate only with low pressure and gradual opening, low boost crisp opening, or high boost crisp opening. I have driven and ridden in a friend's car with this setup extensively and like the flexibility. I will continue to maintain my overboost fuel cut in MS at 10psi for safety. I'll be trying to get that installed today.

Hmm. figured out the wastegate flapper was not opening and closing smoothly. It gets tight at certain points. I messed with it a bit but probably needs more. I can definitely tell that the EBC is holding the door closed a bit longer. Better spool spike fo sho. Do recommend.

I think the flapper shaft needs some more freeing up, though.
