Not abandoning mx5cartalk by any stretch of the imagination! I'm a forum addict and read all of them all day long. I've felt a bit more comfortable chewing the fat with our (predominantly) US counterparts here than at the other US forums.

One doorcard finished today.

The choice in material may divide opinion, but I hoped to choose something a bit different and wanted something plain black that had a texture to it. Looking forward to putting it in the car tomorrow hehe.

I'm hoping I can get the other side done in a much faster timeframe!

I like the door panels. With the humidity and accompanying mold and mildew problems here, I could never see going with fabric for my door cards on my Miata. Perhaps with a hard top if it didn't leak, but probably not. I really think it gives it a different flair.

I am glad this is a comfortable place to be for you. I think there is a lot to be gained from an exchange of ideas from different corners of the world. The fellows on MT.net aren't so bad as long as performance is your primary goal. They can be a bit judgmental on other things, though. If you want to talk tech, I don't know a stronger place to reference for data.

Every forum seems to have a very distinct flavor.

Ya know I didn't think really about mould or mildew... that might be something I have to pay a bit of attention to as we're not without humidity especially in Queensland, time will tell. I may have some other idea in the future and make new ones anyway... fickle fickle! I've achieved the look I was going for this time pretty well with these though.

I didn't really document much of the process for these but I used old doorcards to template out new ones from MDF. The MDF was 3mm thick so I had to route a millimetre off of the areas where the clips go so they could fit, as stock cards are a thinner board. Undercoated and gloss coated the MDF to hopefully combat moisture inside the door. Padded with a fairly thin wadding under the material.

This weekend it was back to work on new toys for the NA6, as we had quite a bunch of stuff for laying around for it.

New rubber for the BBS wheels, 205/45/16 595 RSR.

Although the BBS are still on my car for the moment so I guess thats more fun for me for a few more days!

Main things swapped were shocks and the diff.

Old stuff to come out:

The car now has a Kaaz 1.5 diff and Tein Monoflex.

Diff swaps are pretty easy with two! Not as much of a hassle as I thought it might be. Pretty glad the diff package came with the hubs on the ends of the halfshafts as one of the hub bolts on the car just did not want to move so it was easier to ignore it

Now there's also an EDFC kit with these Tein toys but we didn't have time to fit that :frown: so it'll fun set aside for another day soon.
Also ran out of time to do a swap of the NA6 diff into the NA8 so we can see how it goes with 4:3... another weekend.

Just a little bit different when we took the car for a drive after finishing up!

In the next few weeks we'll need to do some brakes fun and play around working out what feels best with the adjustables on both cars, and they should be right to both have a fang at the next rtackday.
