I think from a business stand point the united states and depending on which state offer a ton of tax breaks vs Canada.

Because I am self employed at times its a real pain to accomplish anything especially with a non tangible business.

My wife is in the US sometimes 1/2 a month and though she does say some areas are complete ---- holes (like here), so does comment on how far cash really goes in the US.

My mother was in IOWA for about 6 months working / training and she had nothing but praise for the lifestyle.

As for the healthcare I am told insurance can be pricey but you can be taken cared of well in the US. No insurance is retarded expensive.

If you are an immigrant who just moved to Canada there is tons of opportunity for you and free ----.

Until i can experience both I will never know. Problem is I cant even really sample the life style because the IRS wont let me work there unless I am full on legit.

I've lived in Chicago my entire life, and love the US. I have friends in Edmonton, and travel there every few months and go biking in Kananaskis Country. Honestly, I'd move in a heartbeat. Alberta's job market seems stronger than my area, especially for technical fields (I'm an engineering major with IT certificates and I can't get a job in either field).

But for myself, im self employed. As a business owner I want what gives me an edge to better what I do.

As a person who was involved in sports young at competitive levels I was always told I had to goto the U.S. for doors to open.

As a parent, there is security in the health system here because I am familiar with it. I dont know the US system but I have heard...if you got cash in the US you live, no cash you die.

Grass is always greener on the other side. I may not ever have the chance to be in the US but I tell my wife that our next child should be born in the USA so he has dual citizenship. On the flip side someone had mentioned forget the states, goto Sweden or Switz (cant recall because of the paid education).

In the US..

No cash = live off government.
Middle cash = Have to work your *** off for okay living.
Upper cash = you win but pay for poor.
