Hood Vents

Default Hood Vents

My Car Brings alot of air into the engine bay but has a hard time getting the hot air from the exhust manifold and turbo out. Cspence uses a z34 Lumina Hood Vent on his car. heres his http://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t33438/] Build Thread what im going to do looks like this.
Am i dumb for cutting into a great aluminum hood, or should i just go for it.

In my humble opinion...don't. The roundish front and your perfect hood don't deserve it.

the hood is almost perfect, the paint needs attention. But i cant drive it on the freeway because the heat from the turbo builds up under the hood and gets pulled into the motor. this is my thought to solve the problem.

Would you paint them body color? I think if you left them black it might not look so good. Maybe try finding a hood that's not in that great of shape, like mine

well, when i do it the hoods going black primer. cant afford to paint the car right now. but eventually it will be body color.

there was a change of plans, im only using 1 on the driverside for simplicity. the worst sound i have ever heard, was the first cut.

Finished the install waiting for the sealer to dry.

More pictures tomorrow after i wash the car.

Get some red spray paint and paint it please! Otherwise it looks great. Just get some "banner red" I think its pretty close. I wouldnt mind cutting my hood up cause its already been beat to hell. (High schoolers boots, and a large chunk of asphault) But you are brave.
