Im not so sure that was the best place to put them. The pressure is lowest on the leading half of the hood, as you get closer to the windshield you get higher pressure due to the transition of the hood into the windshield.
This is why the "hood tilt" is so stupid.

^Correct. It'll vent heat, but will not act much as an extractor (helping air flow through the heat exchangers) in that area from what I understand. For reference:

the paint is to faded to match unfortunately. we put it there so we did damage the main support of the hood, it should still help keep it cool.

I'm sorry if I don't understand this, but you are saying the car is not driveable at highway speeds due to under hood temps? Perhaps there is a cooling system issue that can be resolved before you cut even more holes in the car?

There are cars that make significantly more power than a Greddy kit, and are able to maintain highway speeds. Seems like you are chasing a symptom and not the cause.

bad radiator and thermostat, but the air filter pulls from near the turbo. so i wanted to get the hot air out from under the hood. And it does make a significant difference, while driving.by that i mean you can actually touch the hood after a long drive, before you got like 3rd degree burns.

this info might be useful to you, at least to show where heat builds up in a boosted miata.
