Just a summer toy or all year round?

I really really like my Toyo R1Rs and they were cheap. However, tread life is not as import as really ------- awesome grip to me. RS3s are the rage, and if I can find some in stock 225/45/R15s I'll try those next. But, these R1Rs have done me well at the track. Paired with my Carbotech XP8 pads, I can make your eyeballs stick to the windshield when I step on the stop pedal.

If you could buy a pair of fancy $100 shoes for $20 but they were a size 16 would that be a good deal?

Let's break this down a minute. The Megans ($880) have a 560lb/in (10kg/mm) front spring and a 450lb/in (8kg/mm) rear spring. Since he is interested in turning the car and not just looking at it, we should note that these spring rates would induce massive oversteer unless you built your own giant front sway bar and left the rear one off entirely. And we won't go into the fact that the shocks are junk for the track.

I'm trying to help him be fast. If he wants to wax it and park it at Sonic on Friday night disregard everything I've said.
