I do want to be fast. But I worry about buying used shocks, had trouble in the past.

Bilstein rebuilds their own shocks for $65 apiece if they ever need it.

Edit:

Buy them properly valved brand new
part # NC1234700D front ~$120 apiece
#NC1228700D rear ~$120 apiece

You can probably find them cheaper if you shop.
