Lack of? Don't see how the transmission would effect the turbo IC piping etc...

I am not talking about the transmission at all. I am saying the mazdaspeed is known for being the only factory turbo'd miata. If you pop the hood and show the fact there is no turbo or intercooler piping. Basically I am saying take the transmission out of the equation and just point out the fact there is no turbo so it is not a MSM.

I am assuming the car didnt have a aftermarket turbo set up on it.

You are confused. It is still a MSM, someone just removed the 6spd and put in a 5spd. So it was still turbo.

At least this is how I'm reading it.

That' the way I read it also. The 5spd's have a reputation of shifting much better than the 6spds. And when modded the MSM's don't really need the 6spd to stay in the powerband. That's my take anyway.

Know you said trade, but I was on ebay a few minutes ago and saw a MSM 6speed for sale for like $1200 which is kinda a deal.
