I figure not everyone knows how incredibly easy it is to flip the lock switch with any sort of random stick you find laying aorund on the street.

Unless you live near Montreal, it's 52$ for an unlocked door in the streets, drive way and parking lot, but you can leave car with the top down if your doors are locked and you'll be fine

Wait, what? You get fined for leaving doors unlocked?

Yes, and directly from the police itself.

They put the ticket on your seat and lock the doors

It happens twice at one of my friend, once at work, then in front of it's house in the street.

They say it's to avoid thieft from stolen cars and then reduce insurance reclamation.

I personnaly think this is just a way to make more money and not just by giving more tickets, but this way they have more time to do radars on the highway or looking at stop sign, which bring back WAY more money than investigating for a stolen car.

I don't how the cops are in the U.S.A., but here, I think they are quite a PITA.

By example, if you drive 100 mph on the highway (60 mph limit) you lose your licence, get a $1000 fine and they tow your car immediatly. Can't tell if it's that bad, but 5 years ago you'll have only lose half of your points and had to pay half of that. I know there is worst place then here

What a bunch of baloney. Police don't need to be yanking my car's door handles. Police are there to investigate crimes after the fact, not monitor my life so that I'm free from any possible risk.

hook your door handle up to twelve volts so it shocks them when they touch the handle, bet they wont want to check it again.
