Jet fuel is very close to kerosene but has some additives. It, like diesel, is difficult to burn unless aerated. You can pour diesel on the ground and throw matches at it all day and it won't light. You can throw lit matches into a bucket of diesel or kerosene and it will just put them out. It doesn't vaporize at room temperature like gasoline and has a difficult time getting mixed with oxygen needed to burn without a wicking device or some sort of sprayer to atomize it. Once warmed by outside flame to it's vaporization point above room temperature it is possible to sustain a flame but it is pretty stable otherwise. It has a high flashpoint.

LOL Fuel Prices
I know I know, I could do better. Only 47 mpg over 50 miles! Well, we are still on winter blend up here and I have the DPF and the car is 3200+ lbs. When the warranty runs out I'll do a DPF delete with tune and shoot for 190 HP/325 ft/lb at 50+ mpg. Some claim 55+ mpg, but I like to do 65 ish on my way to work.
My current record is 53 on the way to Green Bay with a car full of 4 people and camping gear. I haven't come very close since then.
